machining.
The Suprema offers a unique
Intelligent Taper Control System
with taper compensation for
maximum accuracy on thicker
parts and fast cuts. Taper control
is extremely important to the
production of high-quality parts
with waterjet technology. A
number of factors influence
the amount of taper in a cut,
including cut speed and thickness
and the hardness of the material
being cut. Greatly reducing
the speed is one way to easily
reduce or eliminate taper, but
it comes at a great cost in
productivity. The Waterjet ITC
System analyzes cuts and provides
taper control without the need
for reducing speed by inclinating
the high-pressure waterjet up
to 2 degrees and increasing
the stream velocity. The result
is a final part that is produced
faster and with straighter walls,
regardless of the thickness
of the material being cut. |
